Ahhh I love it :D My background was Star Trek-related too, but I changed it. Now I want to change it back... in fact, I think I will :)

P.S. I'm reading Trainspotting. I'm pretty sure we had a conversation about it before? The movie is the one with Ewan McGregor, right? Or was that a different junkie movie?

Almost everyone on my friends list who's done this meme has a Star Trek wallpaper too, it's kind of hilarious.

Yup, that's it! Did you have much trouble reading the accents?

It's a great movie btw, you really need to see it. As I recall (I only read the book once and that was AGES ago) it does depart from the book a fair bit, as it focuses on Renton instead of jumping around as much as the book does. And I found the book a lot more disturbing - not to say that the movie isn't, but I think books can get away with more. Anyway, the film manages to be both bleak and depressing and really funny, which I always love, and the soundtrack is AMAZING. Just... don't watch it for the first time at two a.m. in the basement like I did.

(Google Chrome doesn't think that "movie" is a word, what the hell?)

I figured that the movie would focus on Renton, since if there had to be a main character in this book, I would say it's him. At first I had trouble getting into the style of writing, the accents, but now I read it just fine :) All you have to do is picture a scottish accent in your mind as you're reading and then it all makes sense...

Yeah, I was planning on watching the movie too, and I'm glad you say it's not as disturbing because I was afraid it might be even more so! And yeah... definitely will be watching it with a friend and definitely not at 2am ;)

You were in my dream last night! We ate cake together and you were dressed in a really sweet yellow dress. Random enough for you?

Trainspotting is the only book I've ever read that left me thinking in a different accent. (Movies and TV does that all the time to me, though. I once watched a Scottish film whilst doing homework and spent all night thinking in Scottish-accented French, it was pretty bizarre.)
