why the hell is it April

Here is a meme about my iTunes library.

How many total songs?
6930 songs (34.88 gigs). I've been trying to go through and throw out all the shit I don't listen to, but it's haaaard and I don't waaant to. I chucked a few albums earlier though. Progress! Anyway, this is why I didn't buy a cute little iPod Nano.

Sort by song title - first and last?
First: "'A' Bomb in Wardour Street" - The Jam
Last: "99 Tears" - Sky Ferreira

Sort by time - shortest and longest?
Shortest: "Untitled" - Rilo Kiley, which is four seconds of silence from The Execution of All Things and I don't actually understand why it's here but okay. The shortest thing that makes noise is a clip from The Simpsons that goes "I'm not normally a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me, Superman!" Aw yeah.
Longest: M.I.A.'s Vicki Leekx mixtape, which is slightly over 36 minutes. If you want an actual single piece of music and exclude long silences for bonus tracks and so on it's George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" (17:33).

Sort by Album - first and last?
First: ...I really really want to say it's Abbey Road (which is second). It's actually The A-Files by Alvin and the Chipmunks. The song is a cover of the Time Warp that made me laugh in high school. Shut up.
Last: Rather more respectably, it's ( ) by Sigur Rós.

Sort by Artist - first and last?
First: A-ha (the song's "Take On Me", obviously)
Last: The 6ths

Top five played songs?
1. Lady Gaga f. Beyonce - Telephone
2. Rilo Kiley - The Absence of God
3. Bruce Springsteen - For You (primarily from that time I had it on repeat all night while having a bit of a freakout \o/)
4. Fight Like Apes - Tie Me Up With Jackets (I really had no idea this was so high, huh)
5. DJ Earworm - United State of Pop 2009 (I feel I should say that the 2010 one... didn't suck, obviously they're all astoundingly well done, but it wasn't as appealing for me. TOO CHEERFUL. I much prefer "LET'S DEAL WITH OUR FEELINGS WITH MUSIC" rather than just partying. Take note, popular music of 2011!)

Find the following words. How many songs show up?
Sex: 26
Death: 17
Love: 309
You: 556
Home: 28
Boy: 109
Girl: 129

I hope you found that illuminating.

While I am blathering about music, I have just read an observation that the "what's the matter / you hurt yourself" part of Undertow by Warpaint sounds a lot like Nirvana's "Polly". I KNEW IT REMINDED ME OF SOMETHING. Not that it makes me like Undertow any less, it's just illuminating. Thanks, internet!
