I have the book Once and Future King if you want to read it. I think it's the book the Black Cauldron was based on. I haven't read it though - Heather got it.
Hard to say what makes certain Disney movies successful and others not-as-much. The princess movies seem to do well, with some exceptions. All the Pixar stuff is fantastic, but they weren't really run by Disney until recently so...

Yeah, I guess that's what those are; princess movies. I couldn't think what to call that kind of movie, but that's what 4 out of the 6 Disney movies were between '89 and '95 (not The Lion King or The Rescuers Down Under. Aladdin might not be, although it has a princess in it, too.)

I know that a lot of people are turned off now from the anthropomorphic thing now, because it's "weird" or something (probably has to do with the furry population coming to light, and every anthropomorphic character being related to them.) I also think their movies that focus too much either on action or comedy seem to not do as well (particularly action; the comedic ones tend to get more of a following.) Their movies with a clear cut love story seem to do better, I think. Anyhoo...

What do you consider the Pixar films? Bugs Life and Nemo were both anthropomorphic films and they were hugely popular. So were movies like Ice Age. What about anthropomorphic cars? And the Incredibles is pretty straight action I think.
I don't know what Wall-E is... Liberal propaganda I guess according to some. Conservative propaganda to others.

See, but the Pixar movies are on the cutting edge of animation. 2D animation has been around for forever, so people aren't as interested in it anymore. Although now that we're getting several computer animated movies every year, that might ware off. Pixar has a leg up over the competition in having better writers, however...

Mostly, I was talking about Disney, however. I bet if they made another 2D animated princess movie, it would be popular. We'll see; I think one is coming out next year. Some kinda frog prince movie, apparently. Anyhoo...
