I agree with you that they have varying ways of presenting nature. I find that more people can relate to Steve Irwin's style (I feel weird using past tense so I'll stick with present) and that's why he's so beloved, not just in Australia, but around the globe. People shouldn't be afraid of nature because we are all a part of it; I don't know if the Cousteau's don't view humans as a part of it or if they just always look at it from a view that they're above the nature they're presenting. While I wouldn't say go out and be untrained and pick up a huge snake, I can definitely respect Steve Irwin's message about living with the animals and being a part of the environment.
