It's four hundred years since Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament but failed. So we remember his failure by letting of lots of imitation explosives (presumably to show him how it should have been done) and having a big bonfire. It's still fun though.

It's about two hours until Wales vs New Zealand kicks off in the Millennium Stadium. I'm not ( Read more... )

And then, after the Guy Fawkes paragraph, a whistling sound was heard as the rest of the entry passed over Anna's head.

Oh, and it's also 100 years since Wales first played New Zealand (Wales won, but controversially)

New Zealand are the Tri Nations Champions (I couldn't remember earlier).

Wales 3-41 New Zealand.

Ouch.

Not really a fair result, since Wales were missing their 6 of their best players, plus a couple of others, so about half their team.

Ah Well, at least there's another Grand Slam to look forward to (hopefully) later on in the season.
