Okay so last night I left work at 5:00 made it in line at the theater by six after getting noms. Standing in line I then of course made friends with my line mates because we would be waiting together for the next SIX HOURS for the movie. I had Mystic and my hubby with me. We read for a bit then played munchkin. After Munchkin I went and found Stephanie, the Chapter head for the Phoenix Lament ( Phoenix chapter of the Harry Potter Alliance) and we then went up and down the line handing out fliers and getting names for the mailing list After a successful run we returned to the line and ran into some old friends. By 10 they were letting us in the theater and we all sat together by this time my group had expanded with a coworker, his wife, Kumowolfeh, Nifes and Nife's mom. After a bit we were then joined by Faith and then the movie started. I being the dork that I am was super excited and shushed everyone in the theater lols.
I then was surprised at how almost accurate the beginning of the movie was, they start with the Dursleys just driving off none of the fight or the touching moment between Dudley and Harry . Which was more than I expected honestly I thought they would start with Moldyfaces Deatheater meeting, which they did get to after Harry reminisced in his cupboard. I was surprised this part of the movie and in to the Seven Harrys the script was almost literally word for word. The attack was great except how headwig died in this rendition Hedwig was out of her cage and attacked a Deatheater in the face. And then died. Pretty much this movie followed the books the closest from any of them to date there was quite a bit of skimming over when you learn of Dumbledore's past and the whole Grindlewald shindig. Though I still think the two were butt buddies. I am just hoping they don't skip Dumble's past altogether.
Over all the entire movie was amazing but I have to rage on how they cut it. It is the perfect time to cut it but you don't have enough time to stop crying from watching Dobby die in Harry's arms to react when Voldey is getting the Elder wand out of Dumble's tomb. All I can say is that they skipped over a lot about the cloak and skipped a couple of the polyjuice potion moments but it is pretty amazing. I just don't know how to feel because of how incomplete it feels. So I am thinking I will save complete judgement until next summer when the next movie comes out.
Other than that my loves I am not doing so great...work sucks and the financial troubles keep climbing so I am jut fighting my way out so don't be surprised if you dont see me around as much, for those of you who even see me at all because I am going to be restricting gas to work and home and nothing else. I am not trying to guilt trip anyone or try and get pity I am just warning you as ahead of time as I can.
