Hmph. It's an annoyance, but at least it's not something embarrassing.

Indeed.

Although, I cannot even begin to rationalize as to what is going on here.

I do believe the Imperial 22nd Fleet is nothing more than a ill-conceived circus! It seems as if my former admiral may have played a role in this deceitful business.

If so, then it's quite easy to rationalize: your former admiral has no idea how to organize a discreet assassination that ensures the target stays dead.

...Yes.

It seems that way. I had no idea he was the kind of man to kill his own men.
I assure you, such a trait is not common within the Imperial Fleet!

Junyi? Ah! I was not aware I--never mind that.

We must speak! There much that needs to be discussed now that the Tiger of Jiang Dong lives once more.

It seems that Liu Biao's claim to fame was merely a lie.

Him!? He's... alive? But how!?

How very un-beautiful.... spreading a lie just to get a taste of the glory...

This could have disastrous effects upon our clan if suspicion was to arise that we played a hand in this game.

Junyi, it is absolutely imperative that we men of Wei distance ourselves from Admiral Yuan Shao. Lord Sun Jian already knows it was Benchu who conspired with Liu Biao to kill him.

Liu Biao is long dead but Benchu's name and legacy shall be trampled through the mud because of this sudden revelation.

If anyone speaks to you about this issue, hold your tongue.

Yuanrang, it has been many days since we've last spoken. It is a blessing to hear your voice again even if chaos threatens to undo all of my successes...

Cousin, it seems we may have problem. A grave problem...

Lord Sun Jian lives.

What's done is done. Besides, even with those gibbering fools in the media, I highly doubt that Sun Jian's appearance will hinder our goals.

Now, you said you wished to discuss his reappearance, did you not? Was there anything in particular you needed to mention?

Yes.

I have been informed by Commander Sun Jian that it was perhaps Admiral Yuan Shao of the 22nd Imperial Fleet who ordered a fellow commander to assassinate him. I am unsure if such news is true but rumors have been circulating for some time now about this claim.

I knew Benchu for years but I never would have thought he could have been capable of such a crime until now. I left the 22nd Fleet on my own accord to find a way out of Admiral Yuan Shao's influence ( ... )

Tch! To think that such vileness has managed to poison our ranks...

You used to be close to the man. Tell me, what do you know about his nature?

Such villainy is uncommon among the higher ranking officers but to this extent? To the extent that one man would willingly snuff out the life of another for political and personal gain?

I wouldn't have ever thought it would be possible...

Benchu is...or more like was admirable soul. He is the son of nobility, the Yuan family prides themselves in this nobility and he acts as such ( ... )
