A semi-class review, semi-glee moment that I'm actually getting things done!

Painting will be a very good class as far as learning technique, and while I was nervous at first (having never really painted before) I think it will be a lot of fun. Sadly, there are no "real" oil paints allowed b/c of chemical sensitivity, so I had to buy a whole new ( Read more... )

I would still love to buy some mugs/etc from you, if you're ever selling any. <3 After all, now my apartment has an imbalance of Whisenant-Art.

You two and your art-posts always make my day. :)

You'll have to come by the lofts some time and let me know what shape mug you like best, and I'll make you a bowl and plate to match!

It might be slightly disappointing, but I think you made the right decision to go with Business of Art rather than Egyptian. I expect you'll really need the first one. Unless you discover a portal which transports you back to Ancient Egypt, then you're screwed.

How fitting that you should use a Dr. Who icon with this post...

You are right though, and I am glad of that decision, especially since I was spending 2-3 hours per night on translation work. I am so much freer right now to start building a portfolio and make work that I'm actually proud of.

Love those pictures. It is late and I am jetlagged, but first glancing at those drawings made me think of an elegant 1920s lady in a long dress with a big hat-very art nouveau, and fitting of the Paris we just left.
The business of art is not a bad idea-there will always be ancient Egyptian to take, and you can pay for the classes with your income ( you know, that paper stuff they give you that buys groceries, lattes, and classes...)

Thanks! Welcome back!

I completely agree about the business of art class - every week I feel happier and happier that I took this class instead!
