I have mixed feelings about the new ceramics studio space.

Pros:
-Nice new tables, shelves, KILNS (!!!!!)
-Separate rooms for glaze mixing, spraying, plaster room for mold making, etc.
-Nice display area, plus a soon-to-be-finished lounge
-NEW KILNS!! (did I mention this already?)

Cons:
-Very few wheels? I am confused. They say that there might be new ( Read more... )

So.... we have no water in the apartment. Hopefully the pipes have just frozen, and it's not that the utilities were cut off due to an unpaid bill.... Sam and I had to make a quick dash over to our house to take showers this morning, since absolutely nothing happens when we turn the faucets. We'll see how things progress.

My granddad just signed his apartment lease yesterday, making the talk of his move official. I am glad that he will be closer to family (when he was down in Dallas we barely saw him at all) and in such a nice part of the country. He has on-and-off moods about the cost, but I think he'll be happy here ( Read more... )

Yesterday was full of traveling, though it was hassle-free on my part. It was a one-stop trip in Detroit, if that makes any sense (go east, then go west), but the Detroit airport was pretty interesting. I've been mostly working ... there has been of ton of paintwork to sand and repair (and re-sand, and re-sand again, and discover new cracks, and repair, and re-sand) which has been time-consuming but rewarding. I'm hoping before the end of break I'll be able to buy a length of fiberglass from the huge roll in the back and do some artsy projects ( Read more... )

This has been a little bit of a disappointing semester as far as school goes. It was another case of stretching too thin, but this time I could not handle it as well as last semester.
