[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Flynn Scifo
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Fandom: Tales of Vesperia
Timeline: Just after the fight on top of Zaude
History:
http://aselia.wikia.com/wiki/Flynn_Scifo Character Personality: If Flynn is anything he is dedicated. Ever since he was a child he’s devoted his life to one over reaching ideal, and stuck with it for over half of his life. He’s an idealist through and through, yet not a completely unrealistic one. At his heart he wants to make the world a better, safer place for everyone… but he knows that it’ll take work, that nothing will be easy and that he will be fought step by step along the way. But he is also stubborn as a mule, and no matter what is thrown in his path he will continue on it. True, this will occasionally blind him to some of the slippery aspects of political life, but that does not dissuade him.
It’s hard to describe Flynn without talking about Yuri. He’s both Yuri’s twin and inverse. They share the same ideals of equality and justice but are on very separate paths for how it must be done. Unlike Yuri, Flynn has a core of patience in him, and is willing to wait for his better future. Seeing people get hurt while he’s tangled up in the law hurts him, but he believes that playing judge and jury (and like Yuri, executioner) is simply the first step into a downward spiral. So instead of throwing himself into each tiny personal crime against the people, Flynn plays Politian. And is good at it.
But saying Flynn is nothing more then his goals (perhaps even ambitions, though he would hate to use such a term) is selling him short. He is a kind, loyal and earnest young man, and honest to a fault. He does anything for his friends and is a source of strength to those that fight alongside him. While he is very talented he has yet to fall to any hubris, and in fact tends to blame himself for any failings of the group as a whole. He’s a workaholic, and refuses to be any less then his best at all times. Though, he does have his blind spots: he can be considered a bit of a boy scout, and some may find him a bit preachy and demanding when he really gets going. In fact, he’s a bit of a mother-hen and will pester others “for their own good”, getting easily frustrated when he’s ignored or brushed aside. He could even be compared to a rather pushy, and occasionally easily scandalized, Aunt. His intentions are good… but he can get outright annoying.
He also has a love for battle, though not a bloodlust. Challenging himself and going beyond his limits invigorates him. And finding someone that can challenge him, that can force him to be better not only in battle but in other ways, is something he strives for. When he’s struggling against someone else his more snaky side shows up, and he can show a rather completive streak. Much like a certain vigilante.
Character Abilities: Flynn is, for the most part, a normal human. He has extensive training in sword play and close quarters combat, but all with in human limits.
His only ‘supernatural’ abilities are only useable when he has a ‘bodhi blastia’, a type of magical item. It allows him to use ‘artes’, magically charged attacks that are often elemental based. He can also use healing and light magic when he has it.
Outside combat Flynn is the acting Commandant of his world’s largest standing army: he has well tuned leadership skills and is used to the stress and needs of constant battle.
Character Weaknesses: In a combat situation Flynn tends to be a little on the slow side due to fighting in full armor: even with that gone he’s a bit on the sluggish stonewall side.
Personally Flynn is stubborn, nitpicky and naive. He can be very shortsighted when it comes to people he trusts, and is what one might call ‘Lawful Stupid’ in many ways. If the rules say one thing, to him that way is almost always right… even with evidence of otherwise.
He’s also rather clueless when it comes to personal relationships, and this could get in the way of resonination.
Oh, and his cooking causes world renowned chefs to cry and run away.
[ SOUL CAMPAIGN SECTION ]
+He will keep his combat training
+ And his leadership skills
-But will lose ANY ability given to him by his bohdi blastia. He’ll be 100% human in abilities
- With training he could get over his sluggish fighting style, but this will take time
-He still can’t cook
[ MEISTER ONLY SECTION ]
Flynn is a leader. Through out the game he leads first his own small squad, then all the way up to a full standing army. Not only that, but he’s a combat expert and knows both how to use many hand to hand weapons, but also how to work in a team to cover his own weaknesses.
Meister Ability: Soul Coordinate: It’d be a good expression of Flynn’s leadership skills. Soul Magnetism: During a scene in the PS3 update of the game Flynn get’s pawed at by *5 women* at a bar, and Yuri mentions he’s always had a way of attracting the ladies… even if he has no idea what to do with them. Soul Bandaid: For all his healing artes
[ SOUL INFORMATION ]

First Person: [The view on the video fumbles for a moment, but the person using it seems to figure it out rather quickly. SOMEONE was paying attention to the instructions at least. Soon enough a young man in full armor is seen, face set]
My apologies, but I’d like go over what I’ve learned with those who have been in this city for some time.
One- We have all been kidnapped by a rouge blastia against the users will. Destroying it or removing the power source would, of course, strand those already trapped here.
Two- We have all been asked to aid in this country’s war against a group called ‘Witches’, but this is only a request. Those that don’t wish to fight are still provided with food and shelter until a way to send them home is discovered.
Three- Those that come here are given magic abilities common to this world that will allow them to fight… even if they were already more then capable. [Flynn frowns a little at this, looking almost insulted]
And four… [At this point he looks down, his all business expression cracking for a moment, a look of grief and pain replacing it] This blastia can….revive the dead. [He shakes his head, tossing away the weakness for now… though his eyes are still a little overly watery]
As a knight it’s my duty to come to the aid of those that honestly request it, and while being brought here is …unfortunate… it doesn’t change the fact that there are people in need here. I, Flynn Scifo, will do my best to fulfill your wish so we can all return safely to our homes.
[That said he reaches over to turn the feed off. Only to hit the wrong button, curse softly, blush when he realizes that the DEMISE picked that up, and finally turn it off for real]
Third Person: he didn’t think even for a moment about what he did. Pushing Yuri out of the way of Alexei’s attack was as simple and necessary as breathing to him. But now he was paying for it, having to watch his oldest friend go on to fight alone was worse then the burning pain in his shoulder for sure.
Though the pain was lessening thanks to Witcher’s magic. The little mage had refused to leave his side right along with his right hand woman Sodia. But as more and more sounds of battle reached their ear from high above, Flynn couldn’t bring himself to simply wait any longer.
“I’m fine Witcher, go and see if you can find out anything about this places’ formula. Sodia, I want you to go and offer Yuri and the Princess your assistance in battle.”
“But Captain-!”
He simply raised a hand, offering a grim smile. “I’ll be fine, right now stopping the Commandant is top priority, understood?”
Sodia nodded, her face blank except for a dull anger. Flynn assumed it was aimed at Alexei for all his crimes. If only he had known then he would have never sent her off… but hindsight and all that.
She had only been gone a few minutes when the sky opened up and hell itself spilled out. Flynn could only stare up at the creature pouring out of the hole, eyes huge and terrified. Was THIS what Alexei had planned to unleash? No, impossible. The Commandant’s plans might have been mad, but they weren’t apocalyptical. This was something new and beyond anything he could imagine. Still, once the platform lowered, half busted and covered in crystal shards, all Flynn was worried about was his friends.
“Yuri! Lady Estellise!” Even with his busted shoulder he had no trouble standing up and jogging over to meet them.
But Yuri was no where to be seen.
He didn’t really HEAR the words of Yuri’s friends or Sodia, only their meaning washing over him. It was like his guts were dunked in icy water, water like the ocean below them, where Yuri’s body had to of fallen. The words didn’t make sense-- after all, such an ending was impossible. Right now the tentacles sliding from the clouds above them were more feasible then Yuri being-
- between one blink and the next he was no longer looking at Her Highness or Zaude or the ocean. Instead it was a dark room. Flynn wondered, understandably, if he’d fainted and was already dreaming. The screen that appeared killed that hope quickly… but like before the words were mostly jumbled mumblings. One world or another meant little to him in that moment without his best friend and only family alive to experience it.
While the stranger on the screen droned on, Flynn simply leaned against a near by pillar and cried.
