Tonight I get to go see Conrete Blonde for their Bloodletting 20th Anniversary Tour. Yes, while saying that makes me feel a bit old, and I was disappointed I didn't feel comfortable

lemme know how it went? i was really tempted to go, but couldn't really afford it, and had school tonight anyway, which i couldn't miss.

i saw them in orlando, at house of blues, some years ago (2002) and it was wonderful. more intimate, though, in a small venue like that and johnette was barefoot and glorious. :O) she's so amazing.

It was awesome and amazing! I am so happy I went. I thought I had given up on her after seeing her solo at the Walnut Room a few years ago, and the whole night was terrible.

Johnette totally redeemed herself in my eyes. I have to admit the last time I saw her solo was probably ruined more by the lipstick lesbian yuppy clique that physically pushed me out of the way rather than her drunken ramblings on stage, but I digress. Tonight she was in top form, and I was so impressed.

I confess though, it was a little weird to see Jim Mankey with short, very white/grey hair. I came home and looked them all up, and god, now I feel even older- he is 58 years old. I missed the awesome long rocker hair, and kind of kept my eyes all focused on her. She was in amazing shape, and had on a slinky black dress that was not forgiving, but it didn't need to be.
