Mmm, all I can think of is listening to music (which might just make it worse) or borrowing movies that use more complex English. :/

Yeah, music's a pretty good way to pick up words. And historical videos, here I come! XD

(Thanks for the suggestion!)

You know, the discovery channel has a lot of interesting shows and then there's always all of those real life detective shows....

Discovery channel's wicked! I'm not that much of a TV junkie, so I don't know many shows, but the few times I've seen Law and Order, it seems pretty interesting, and then there's always CSI and stuff... hmmm... *needs to get reabsorbed into pop culture*

I would definitely go with what ravenlock_3 suggested. Listening to French music definitely seems to be helping my pronunciation with that.

Oh, honey. *HUGS* No one should make fun of you for mispronouncing things. My mother used to do it because Spanish was her first language and she retained her accent. If you want to know how to pronounce specific words, there are dictionary websites like Webster's that have a little sound button where you click on it and hear a .wav of the word. It won't help with a ton of words but if you have questions about certain ones, I think it will.

*ponders* What else? Maybe books on audio (and not stuff on how to pronounce, but normal books read aloud) will help but those can be pricey unabridged. Watch the TV programs with closed caption on, too. I do it and get to see new words spelled out so I remember them better and how to say them - hell, even in other languages.

How you pronounce things has no bearing on how intelligent you are. If you're in English Honors it's because you've earned it. Wtf, some friend! Good luck with this! I hope my suggestions helped a little. *hugs*

Thankies! *hugs back* Yeah, I love those websites! Checking up new words on those could probably help! It's those words I don't know I'm pronouncing wrong that bugs me >.>

Audio books sound pretty good as well. The libraries near where I live doesn't have too big of a section for audio stuff, and most of it is for kids, but those could work! Libraries also have all those documentary stuff too... I love captions! Mostly because I love to read, so I always have captions on and my reading ability developed way faster than my speaking or listening ones. X3

Thanks for the suggestions! :) *hugs back* (hugs make everything better! :D)

You know, I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with saying "GEE-O-logee" It looks correct to me. Oh well.

It looks like everyone else has already given good suggestions on how to approve with the pronounciation, and I don't have any other ideas, so I will shut up now.

It's wrong because I'm putting too much stress in the first syllable and it sounds like two words instead of one. (Stupid English. XD)

No, no, it's always great to hear new suggestions! (er, even if they have been said before. :D;;) I'm just glad you commented. :)

Oooh, alright then. I guess that makes sense. As long as I can tell what the word is, I've never paid much attention to pronouncion or what syllables are being stressed.

Hehehe. I like to randomly break into random accents that I don't actually possess and pronounce words differently all the time, so I am not exactly the best person to take suggestions from in that area. XD

Don't worry, your not the only one who can't pronounce that well. I screw up too, especially when I learn new words. I cannot remember how to say vague or chaos, even though I know what both words mean. I don't really have any good advise accept, see how people react when you say things. If they seem to get annoyed even slightly when you say a particular word, ask them if you said it wrong. Otherwise, you shouldn't worry to much. Everyone screws up at something.
