They are awesome people... well, the majority of them anyway!

But yes, it's interesting to hear animation professors go mystery science theater style on a Pixar film like Incredibles, or a comic script writing professor rant about Bleach and why it sucks.  Or about how Tokyopop killed the manga industry in America.  Things like this can be ( Read more... )

Well, I agree that it killed its soul. I don't know that anyone can say the industry is actually dead, though.

But that sounds super awesome, though. :D Professors and teachers can be so cool. (... Are you allowed to call them by their first names?)

Not sure I agree with your professor about Edna, though, now that I think about it. It may be my penchant for brusque, self-sufficient, slightly silly-and/or-eccentric avuncular figures of either sex, so I may be biased, but.

I feel like the "I used to work for gods!" argument would turn her into a much more cliche'd villain than Syndrome wound up being: I hear you on the absurdity of his Achilles heel, but when you're talking about motivation and background, he's one of the most interesting, psychologically human children's villains I can think of since Gaston.
