I decided today while watching Nova, that when I read or watch shows about the newest scientific discovery that this is how people must feel about religion. While watching Nova talking about string theory I sat there with my heart pumping, thinking of all the ideas that the scientists are talking about. It does not really matter to me that

Well...I can kind of see the correlation between religion and science. Except to me it seems like science generates daily discoveries while religion generates daily controversy. That and science can be proven, or at least there is a hope of proving it whilst with relgion you can never actually prove anything. But I get your point.

Dude if you feel really strong about it look into taking some more device physics classes. Semiconductors is a good starting class, you can also take Optics or Physics of light. If you decide you really want to do this stuff you can talk to Steve about taking Modern Physics as one of your electives. Initialize your Dreams..

People fall in love with theories all the time, like the theory of love. Love is definitely a theory. You can't really prove whether it exist or not, you can only really evaluate it in hindsight. It's almost impossible to describe to another person, and each person's experiences are extremely varied. Sounds like love fits the theory bill. :)

I can only imagine what it would be like to crash the worlds of math and science together to create something new and beautiful. What a thrill it must be.

Yeah, that's lighting design. It's truly a mix of math (angles, photometrics, optics, etc.) and art (mood, theme, effect). And trust me, it is a thrill.

i feel the same way about animal documentaries on discovery or natgeo channel. it's always fun to show off your knowledge by naming an animal before the narrator does...but that's just me.
