DC was a hootenanny, y'all. Fabulous neverending geeky librarian party with lotsa free booze, cheese, film screenings, and advanced reader's editions. But man, oh man, was it expensivo. Even their "bargain" restaurants required a visit to the local loan shark ( Read more... )

You shoulda bugged Judy about whether or not she's ever going to complete the "Just As Long As We're Together" trilogy because she never did Alison and it's been driving me crazy since 1994.

She's working on the Pain and the Great One books right now. But I'm right there with ya, I'd rather have more Alison.

I reread Here's to You, Rachel Robinson every once in a while, and it's so well done, I have to wonder if she thought just not to continue on to Alison, even though she was a Vietnamese orphan adopted by a movie star.

No stalking for me. But I might start stalking Sherman Alexie, since he's my fake boyfriend now.

A friend of mine who has a distinctive name got two books signed by Judy. Judy recognized her because of her name. I was really jealous.

It sounds like they could not find the same can of peanuts 4 times or something, so you got charged 4 times for it? It boggles the mind! Why did they not put more peanuts in?!

I have no idea what was going on with the doo-doo peanuts. I'm just happy that they didn't charge us for the stupid teeny $25 bottle of wine.

I'm just super-glad you had the nerve to march up to the service desk and ask WTF about the minibar thing cuz I was inclined to be a passive-aggressive sucker.

And I'm STILL recovering from all the crazy rich (and expensive!) food. Empanadas and pizza and Five Guys, oh my!

I'm usually a passive sucker but when it comes to paying lame-o prices for teeny bottle of wine I have to put my foot down. Though if it were that muscat that BD had at that Italian place in Seattle then I would have just chugged it. Yummy muscat...

I'm ready to take on eating rich foods again. But I've run out of money so I'll be eating at Chez Dragonchariot for awhile.
