Maybe not exactly in the subject. But what do you think about this assertion? "when we hate someone, we hate in that person what is not present in ourselves..."

i actually would disagree with it. i think that all the things we love and hate in other people are things that we each carry to come degree within ourselves. the key (in my humble opinion) is to understand that each asset and "defect" actually serves a purpose and has a balancing factor. i think once one chooses to accept this it is easier to love your own faults/defects/quirks (however you choose to view/call them) and then thereby to accept it in other people and be able to let it go.

Yea, I agree with you. Just had heard this statement and could not understand what it meant. Now I have an interesting conclusion -all the "negative factors" that we hate in another people are yours factors that you prefer not to see in yourself or just an envy :))
