Nifty! I remember looking around for a LaTeX knitting package a few years ago and never finding anything.

I'll have to try it out when things stop being so crazy around here.

i think of myself as a fairly avid knitter, so let's look stupid; could you say more about TeX i don't know it and i use lots of charted patterns that i mix and match sections from. is it a program that i need to purchase to chart or what? thanks for being my lesson for the day, which ever day it is.

TeX (and LaTeX) are programs that take easy-to-type, plain ASCII text documents and turn them into pretty, easy-to-read, usually PDF documents. They are free; see here. Note that there are versions of these programs for Mac, Windows, Linux, Unix, etc., so you'll need to find a distribution of LaTeX for your own operating system ( ... )

I've been pondering a way to chart crochet stuff, and this might just be the answer. I will test it out and get back to you.
