I don't think I can keep my relationship with Calvin a secret from my mom anymore. I'm beginning to feel horribly guilty about it, especially since she lost a lot of trust in me when I lied about being involved with Ashvind all those years ago.

My parents are planning on visiting in about a month, and I had wanted to wait until after that to tell

I feel like I'm not the right person to give advice because I keep thinking to myself, "Who cares what they think?" But I mean, you're going to have to tell them at one point or another. May as well get it over with, like ripping off a bandage

I almost feel that they wouldn't even be satisfied with any guy I dated unless he was a blue-eyed blonde heart surgeon, but honestly, those type of guys don't interest me. Yes, I would like to be successful and "well-off," but I am not going to marry some yuppie just to make my parents happy.

I know you already know that I told my parents. There are only two things I have left to do: write my parents a long, explanatory letter and then just...wait it out.

It's breaking my heart as we speak to just sit here and wait for my mom to call me back after she hung up on me yesterday, but I'm gonna have to deal. My mom means the world to me, so I just have to have faith that she sees me the same way, too.
