It is really hard to consciously and forcefully cut someone out of your life. Some people you just grow away from and in time, you find yourself never talking to them again ( Read more... )

I'm kind of curious to hear about this too.

It's a dangerous thing when you try to assign a value to friends. It's too subjective. Under the vague blanket of that statement, you could cut off Marc or Jenpi, considering you hardly talk or hang out with them anymore. Technically, currently, you don't benefit from friendship with those two, Elzbeth, and Heather.

As for Marc, Jennifer, and Elizabeth, even if I don't talk to them that often, I have never been frustrated with them and talking or hanging out with them has hardly ever led to unpleasantness. I would like to keep their friendship.

With Heather, a lot of our conversations with her have frustrated me, but as of late that is all because of Calvin, not her. I enjoy Heather's company in small doses.

Ok, that was poorly worded on my part. What I meant was that my friendship with him gave me nothing positive in my life. He constantly ignored me when he was dating someone but would suddenly call me all the time once he wad single. When I asked him why he always did this, he said, "Girls don't like it when you talk to your ex." I always made a point of still talking to him even when I was in a relationship. Sure, it wasn't as frequent, but he would ignore me for months at a time. And yet he expects I talk to him just as often even when I'm in a relationship.

And most of the time I spoke to him he ended up frustrating me because he would never heed my advice and would constantly make the same mistakes over and over.

Not to mention his flirtacious nature that made it complicated to remain friends with him when I am trying to have a fulfilling relationship with a man.
