Sorry to hear that. I did not get into grad school either even with all the stuff I did as an undergrad.

If you really want to go, I would suggest moving to the city where the school that you want to go to is. That way, you can slowly get to know the professors you want to work with....maybe a class here or there after you get residency and you can get internal letters of rec.

That WAS my plan, but I moved to Portland instead. In the end it worked out, but if I would have made the investment of moving to a city with a REAL social sciences graduate school I would be doing something very different right now I am sure.

Next time you visit your family, you should drop by. Krys and I can cook you a graduation dinner.

I'm sorry to hear that :( I'm sure you'll still find something you like. You can also apply again next year. It's not so bad taking a year off and working. It's a pretty good experience.
