Brice walked along the desert trail staring at the stars in the dead of night. His faithful companion Rajah kept on sniffing the air for there was a strange scent was mixed into the many odors in the desert. Then, he sat on a nearby boulder. Taking deep conscious breaths, he placed his hand upon his chest and felt the locket that his beloved Serenity had given him that one night when they were at the top of a mountain overlooking Mother Nature’s creation stretching as far as the eye could see. Rajah layed his head on Brice’s lap and stared at the photograph of Serenity sitting beside a flo0wing waterfall. Yelling her name loud and clear, all he received for an answer was an echo of his own voice. Rajah closed it. Then Brice began to realize that Rajah wanted to play. Pouncing on Rajah, they fought with each other, but the sand went blowing directly into their eyes. It was no sand storm, but the head of a panther began forming, rising 1,000 FT into the night sky. Suddenly, its eyes glowed red and the mouth of the sand-made panther began to open slowly. A white light began to form and it blinded both Brice and Rajah temporarily. Once Brice’s vision began to clear, he realized that it was an oracle that appeared more like a saint. “Hello Brice! I’m so happy to finally meet you!” said the Oracle. “May I ask who you are?” Brice returned. “ ‘Tis I, Faith the goddess of hope. Once you enter the mouth of this panther, you shall begin your last and final obstacle to your quest. Since you had lost your beloved Serenity, we the gods are going to give you the chance to rescue her soul by entering the spirit world,” said Faith. “Piece of cake,” replied Brice. “Ahhh…but this is not going to be an easy task Brice. You see, you have to make a bargain with Hades (Lord of the Underworld) to rescue Serenity’s soul. In order to rescue Serenity, you must give up your most valuable possession.” “Then I shall. Also the suspense is killing me so now I shall venture on my final quest” said Brice. “Before you go Brice…” placing her staff at his head. “…Let me grant you much strength and eternity of hope for your bravery.” Closing his eyes, a nice cool breeze brushed his hair and once he opened his eyes, the goddess, Faith had disappeared. Picking up a stick that was nearby he exclaimed, “Light it up for me Rajah.” Rajah opened his mouth and flame came out from it lighting up the stick. A hairball came out of Rajah’s mouth once all the flame came out of his mouth. Brice laughed heartedly out loud and putting his head high up in the air, he ascended into the mouth of the panther that was a portal. Spinning about 13 times he found himself at the entrance of the spirit world. Walking through endless corridors of lost souls he came to a halt at a large ocean that was a dark sea green color. Rajah growled at one of the souls that were floating nearby that was frowning at him.
Suddenly a flame bursted 3 FT from Brice and the ugliest thing he’d ever seen in his life stood glaring at him holding something red that looked more like a pitchfork. Obviously it was Hades (Lord of the Underworld). “So. You’ve finally come to my kingdom. Awful isn’t it?” “Sure…” said Brice. Pointing a finger at a pile of bones, it transformed into a chair that rose high into the air. Hades disappeared and reappeared in the chair high up in the air. Hades turned his head back to its original position. “SO what do you want from this discarded pile of souls Brice?” “I want the soul of Serenity. Also I am willing to bargain with you to have her soul,” said Brice. “You are a very smart young man to do so. The bargain is that you must give me something that is very valuable to you, and you shall have Serenity’s soul in return.” Said Hades. “Very well then,” exclaimed Brice taking out the ancient golden circlet he had found in the desert when he was a 10-year-old boy. An extremely pleased smile fell upon Hades evil face. Rajah shuddered and looked back at the ocean of souls searching for Serenity. The golden circlet flew right from Brice’s hands up to Hades. “Yes! This is the pure genuine one that belonged to Angel…not that it’s any of your business” said Hades when Brice’s eyebrows went up. “An old girlfriend?” asked Brice. “Sorta, she was one of a kind and that’s all I can tell you.” After a moment of silence Brice blurted out, “Are you going to retrieve Serenity’s soul from the Ocean of souls or are you not!?” “Keep your pants on!” said Hades. Right then, Hades pointed his finger at the middle of the ocean of souls and one emerged from it. Serenity looked very sad. The soul wandered to the shore where it saw its body. Reentering the body, Serenity’s eyes opened. Rajah bounded to her purring and letting her hug him. Brice gave Serenity a big hug, but then Hades gave an evil cackle. Brice blinked his eyes and the next second he, Rajah and Serenity were surrounded by burning fire. “You better start running Brice! Because if you don’t you will end up in the Ocean of Souls too.” “You double-crosser!!!” screamed Serenity. “Hey! I’m a nice guy and all, but I love torturing.” Brice jumped on Rajah’s back and so did Serenity. “Come on! A tiger can’t pass through fire!” yelled Hades. Evidently Rajah and most tigers can. “WHAT!!!???” said Hades looking awestruck as Rajah ran with all his strength through every fire that came at him in the corridors. Since the flame in Rajah’s mouth was cold in temperature, he was able to keep Serenity and Brice from getting burned. Once they got to the entrance where the portal was, Brice got off of Rajah and yelled to Hades, “Come on! Take your best shot if you can!” Hades pointed his pitchfork at Brice and flaming lave went straight at him. Closing his eyes, Brice waited for it to hit him. Then he opened his eyes as the lava pelted his body but reflected and went back to Hades. “NOOOOOO!!!” yelled Hades and he became covered in lave. Brice, Serenity & Rajah landed face down in the middle of the desert. Serenity and Brice got married the following month and Rajah was going to be a Daddy because Serenity got herself a tiger for a sidekick too. They then lived happily ever after.
