Do what you can with the lesson plans, but don't be afraid to change them. Keep an eye out for what doesn't seem to be working, and what works really well. After each day, try to figure out *why* things worked or didn't, which can help you know how to do things better the next time around.

I didn't do a very good job at my first school, but the kids liked me anyway. You'll be the same. If the lessons at the first school don't go well, just remember you'll do them better at the next one, and you've got 10 to play with.

As for groping and mean comments: I can't say I've had to put up with either, but I'd recommend making sure you don't take any guff from them. If they try anything, show them who's boss right away, which should discourage anyone else from trying. Gaijin Smash!

Thanks for the advice I'll take that all in. Mostly it's been deep breathing exercises for me. And the fact that I have to start teaching AS SOON AS I get into the school which means I don't have a chance to make any damn worksheets... So I guess I have to hope the Japanese Teacher does. They know what the first lesson is supposed to be anyways. I'm probably going to bore the hell out of them with my "Canada" lesson though. But it'll waste a good chunk of time.

By the way, Mom said you dropped by.. well it's yesterday now there, isn't it? She said "He knows you just as well as I do! Don't get scurvy!" I'm still trying to find a good way to get veggies into my diet with the minimum of effort.

AND Happy Birthday J-man! Welcome to a quarter of a century's worth of experience!
