Year End Book List!

Jan 01, 2010 15:26

I am insanely sick right now, but I want to post the books I read in 2009. This is a more expanded version than what's on my goodreads 2009 shelf. All said and done I read 40 books this year. Moving slowed me down as I knew it would. Still my hope was 50 but my goal was 36 so ultimately I'm happy with 40! I think I'll keep it the same for 2010 - my ( Read more... )

Sorry to say I don't recognize any of the titles. Lots of "parental" books there.

Awesome! I keep making the 50 books list.

How did you like the parenting books? Any favorites that you recommend from the ones you read?

Tell me more about the 50 books list! Is that an LJ comm?

I liked some others I did NOT care for. Ones I really enjoyed were: 'The Natural Pregnancy Book' by Aviva Jill Romm, 'The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth' by Shelia Kitzinger, 'Real Food for Mother and Baby' by Nina Planck and both of the Thomas Verney Books. 'The Language of Fertility' was excellent as well but not really a parenty book.

I really did NOT care for 'Love and Logic' by Jim Fay and Foster Cline, 'Your Vegetarian Pregnancy' by Holly Roberts, and 'Eating for Pregnancy' by Catherine Jones.

Cool, thanks for the info!

The 50 books list is more a 50 books goal, is what I should have said. You know the 101 things in 1001 days? Actually, just in case you haven't heard of it, the idea is here, and a community for it is mission101. I see people say "read 50 books in a year" a LOT. So that has been a recurring goal for me and I have yet to achieve it. Maybe this is the year! :D

Ahh, I see. I'll have to check it out. I'm part on 100filmsinayear so I thought it was like a 50booksinayear comm or something.
Yeah, I've had the 50 books as my goal the last 3 years in 2008 I came really close. We'll see how I do this year! :)
