'Batman Returns' as well as 'The Prestige' was directed by Christpher Nolan so he must have really liked working with the two. Maybe Nolan bumped into the other two while they were filming 'Scoop' in London and asked them to come join in the fun?
The same director? Ha. Hey, that could well be. It looks like it'd be fun. Some awesome looking magic tricks in the preview. And Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman next to each other.....there can't possibly be anything wrong with scenes like that.
I am very interested in seeing The Prestige because: (a) Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale are INHERENTLY fascinating (ahem); (b) I read the book on which it was based, and the book is . . . well, it's actually quite a dreadful book in retrospect, but it's dreadful in such a bizarre way that I can't wait to see how the film deals with some really fundamental flaws. I won't say anymore until it comes out; (c) David Bowie as Nikolai Tesla!
Ack! How could I forget to mention David Bowie. Since I actually said his name out loud in the theater when I saw him. Ummm. Must have been distracted by Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman.
Ahh. Did not know it was based on a book. Which I'll refrain from reading before the movie, and just look forward to you doing the dirty work of pointing out the fundamental flaws.
By the way, I F'ing LOVE your icon! Deadwood is currently my favorite show on TV...and how awesome is it that Brian Cox is now in the cast? VERY awesome.
