We were out for a few hours last night and came home to find the dog had gotten into the bathroom garbage and strewn chewed up, shredded sanitary napkins throughout the house. I mean, everywhere. It was pretty disgusting. Worse than him eating the cat litter. Miranda had gone upstairs first and said --oh, Chestnut chewed up a whole roll of toilet

I heard once (worked for the vet who treated him) of a dog who got into the bathroom bin and ate a used tampon, which swelled up inside him and impacted his digestive tract. He had surgery to remove it, but ultimately died of it. So it could have been a lot worse than just a thing to clean up.

Oh, that's even worse than the LJ friend who posted about her dog vomitting up two tampons. I swear, sometimes I worry more about the dog getting into stuff than I did with the kids. Probably because I never had to worry about them eating bathroom trash.

Kittens are fun, I'm really enjoying foster care and having the fun of kittens without them growing up into actual cats, since we already have our own three. But taking a break is pretty good as well!
