This is really random, but I was looking at your userpics, and I saw the Ben hugging Chris icon, and uh. Can I snag it? I'll credit you and stuff. I mean, it's totally okay if you don't want me to. I just wanted to askkk.
No yeah, go right ahead. Just credit that's all. And if I like what you did to it, if you're doing anything to it, I'll snag yours and credit you as well. But, the picture isn't mine because if it was, well, I would be happy like 24/7. :D
I got it from the photographer Autumn De Wilde. You can go on Flickr and search death cab for cutie in people and there will be a bunch of pictures. :D
eep! it won't let me respond...so i'll do it here.marecreaturaApril 17 2009, 02:15:52 UTC
okay, first and foremost, you need to download the latest version of photomatix. it's an HDR program. there's free versions of it floating around. try torrent searching for it ;)
(please excuse me if you already know this stuff) HDR means high definition range. it's what makes a photo POP or seem 3d.
to do this, you take a regular photo. make two more versions of the photo in either paintshop or photoshop, one overexposed (too bright) and one underexposed (too dark). once you've done that, open photomatix, and select generate HDR image. choose the 3 different exposed photos and load them in. it'll do most of the work for you ;)
after that, choose tone mapping, and this will allow you to tinker with the photos colors, shadows and highlights and whatnot...and that's it :)
this is a very basic rundown, if it makes no sense, please let me know and i'll break it down more ;) good luck!
