Twisting A Mind - Ch 2

Summery: What if Voldemort had discovered his link to Harry earlier and used it? What could have happened to Harry and how could things have been different?

It had been an accident the first time he had done it, but he had been rather sated and calm for the moment and had been thinking on his situation when he just heard the boy. Voldemort had been beyond surprised to find the connection between him and the boy he quickly found out to be Harry Potter, the very boy that had stripped him of his body, but after some thinking and a change of body he had decided it might well be a good thing. What better way to get around some prophecy then to turn the boy to his side?
With that logic in mind he had contacted the boy again though their link. He didn’t even realize that he was unconsciously speaking in the language of the snakes as he whispered into the boy’s mind. Telling him of how it was Dumbledore that had put him there and forced him to stay there; of how the old man didn’t care how he was being treated; and finally telling the boy of ways he could make his family pay for what they were doing to him. It was several months before the boy finally started to reply and it was at that time that he realized something about Harry: the boy was a Parselmouth.
With that revelation though came the one that he had been hissing it at the boy for months and that Harry had only recently begun to truly understand what he was saying. Once the boy understood him though and he realized what he was doing and got over the surprise of the boy understanding it became a more regular thing. He would go quite when he needed to change bodies and Harry would go quite when he was knocked out by that brutish uncle of his, but otherwise they tended to keep the link open and speak rather freely.
It took him a while to get Harry to tell him much the boy wasn’t very trusting at all. Still Voldemort wasn’t going to give up and after several months he finally gave in and agreed to answer some of Harry’s questions if Harry would answer his. The first question though was what that he knew would threaten his plan…
