Character Information

Name: Lenna Charlotte Tycoon
Age: 19
Series/Fandom: Final Fantasy V
Canon Point: After being rescued from the void by Hiryuu - restoring the water crystal (which happened just previously) would have been her focus.

History: Care and devotion turned water into the seeds of life.

Personality: The essence of devotion (or kindness. Or whatever translation you choose to use) couldn't have been better placed. Despite her royal upbringing, Lenna was raised to be kind, gentle and self-sacrificing. As a child she was told to allow her mother to die rather than kill the last of the Wind Drakes to save her life, a message she has lived by ever since. She's formal at times, another result of her royal upbringing, but unmistakably warm and loving, even in her political dealings.

She often comes off as naïve. Despite a strong education and great capability in political situations, she has a habit of always thinking the best of others whether they're pirates or bandits or complete strangers or whatever they happen to be. Though she becomes more wise during her travels with the other warriors of light, she simply goes from not knowing any better to knowing better but still making a conscious choice to trust others completely. She'd much rather risk being betrayed and hurt than not give others a chance, no matter how many times they've hurt her before.

She's usually very soft-spoken and willing to let others do their thing and to simply support them rather than taking the lead herself when out of her element but takes initiative and addresses other parties as the party's representative in situations where knowledge of politics or just speaking to people in general is useful, being the member of the party least likely to say something stupid and/or incriminating. She isn't timid or shy at all, even if she can sometimes be quiet, and this shows in her body language. She simply prefers listening to speaking and chooses to let others take the spotlight. When she does take the lead, she does so naturally and with grace.

Her normal willingness to follow rather than lead, however, goes out of the window is she knows someone is in distress. Despite being calm and capable of thinking before acting in normal circumstances she is incredibly impulsive (often suicidally) in situations when someone needs help. She is very soft-hearted and almost incapable of watching someone in distress, let alone causing distress herself, and self-sacrificing to a ridiculous degree. As mentioned before, she was raised to cherish the lives of others even above that of her own mother. Throughout the story, she continually does stupid things for others, up to and including willingly eating poison.

Since restoring the water crystal, certain traits that it represented - her tendency toward self-sacrifice, mostly, and her devotion to people and her ideals - have become exaggerated at the cost of more human traits, mostly common sense and restraint.

Strengths & Special Abilities: Lenna has had a strong education in a variety of subjects, from decorum and needlework to spear-fighting and military strategy. She's from a long line of Dragoons and in a flashback it's shown that the princesses of Tycoon are taught white magic.

Within her game, she takes on the spirits of heroes stored in shards of the crystals as her teachers, giving her their abilities as she learns from them. Because having such a wide variety of abilities under normal circumstances would be sort of game-breaky, I'm going to say she's mastered the White Mage, Dragoon and Beastmaster jobs (because there's canon evidence to support her being able to use those abilities anyway), giving her their abilities without having to rely upon the guidance of the crystals. Other jobs she'll need the crystal shards for. There's a question relating to this lower down.

Where is their brand located?: Lower jaw, just below the left ear. Over the external maxillary pulse point. Usually hidden by her hair.

1st Person Sample: [Her voice is unsteady. Judging by the trembling sound of background noise, her hands are shaking just as much as her voice.]

I- I cannot. I cannot stay here. My kingdom. My people. My friends-

I already have a duty to them. And a whole world I've sworn to protect. I already have what you say is a...

...I already have a 'focus'.

3rd Person Sample:

The princess - no, there was no royalty here. The young woman - had woken early, as she did every morning. She made her bed, moved through the room in silence to avoid disturbing her fellow sleeping l'cie, and headed to the kitchen. She had grown used to living here quickly, without attendants and where all the authority she had, she'd had to earn.

She almost liked it. Even though she missed her friends and regretted deeply being unable to help her people, there was no sense in being miserable just for misery's sake. Not when it wouldn't change a thing. This was hardly an unpleasant life, not in itself, and she would continue to try to understand what was asked of her. She had woken into this life after fulfilling one duty. Perhaps, however bittersweet leaving her new-found friends might be, fulfilling another might lead her back to the life she left. She would be happy, no matter where she was. Not only that, she would throw every fibre of her being into making sure all of those around her were just as happy.

One thing she'd yet to grasp about this new life was cooking. Fortunately, nobody here was alone. One of the l'cie who was now sleeping in the room she had left had made bread last night and left it to rise. Her only duty in preparing breakfast was to shape and bake the risen dough, something that she was capable of handling herself. She hummed to herself as she carefully shaped the bread and heated the oven, then placed the bread within and watched the world outside begin to awake as she waited. The village was full of life in a way that Tycoon Castle had never been in her lifetime. She had heard tales, when she was young, of a proud time when the Wind Drakes filled the skies of Tycoon but there had only been one in her own time. This place was alive with flowers and animals.

There wasn't as much time as she'd have liked to consider the wildlife and she returned to the oven not a second too soon, taking the bread out and then heading to the bedrooms to wake her housemates.

“Everyone, please rise and shine! While the bread's still warm!”

Questions? Will it be possible for Lenna to (temporarily) regain access to the abilities of specific jobs by requesting the crystal shards from the fal'cie?
