Sheesh, so it DID turn out like what happened to my mom's cousin! If she were here I'd ask if she knew what doctor operated on her cousin. Sounds like someone is a (hacking!) quack!

Do remember to follow up on this - sometimes the medical profession here operates (shudder) on the premise that "we do it: so it must be right" - witness my recent experiences. If I could go after the doctor that did the (then successful but sloppy follow-up) surgery in Austria which resulted in the fact that now I have trouble lifting anything heavier than a case of soda - he would be very surprised at the fact that I would NEED to do that kind of lifting, and then give his opinion on what American males expect of their matronly female population and of American medical practice in general. I would prefer, if I had the option, to go to Canada, where it is "let's see what we can do, it may take awhile (triage queue) but maybe we can help."

Hope she is better soon, please transmit my warm wishes. :)
