That's bad. That's good. In Taos!

So. Wednesday we went out and visited the Taos Spa and Tennis Club and actually worked out! I spent thirty minutes on an elliptical (good for my knees for a number of reasons) and played on some wieght machines and Tia worked out too ( Read more... )

Thank heavens for the laptop (and camera?). The needles are just rude, that he threw them in the trash. If he'd thrown them on the side of the road, you could have gone to get them. :-(

But it's a *really* good thing that the police were all over this. Sometimes police are either too busy with worse crimes (a bad thing in several ways) or can't find the thief (also bad). That you got your stuff is a V. good thing.

Plus, of course, always shiny points for a workout!

And we got the camera back, too. dragonherder1 April 4 2008, 15:39:22 UTC
And, unlike the poor person next to us, we didn't get our window smashed out.

So, really we were very lucky. But, still....

As Tia said, "I just wish I could open them up and instill a sense of honor".

I'm very glad they caught the guy, but I'm very sorry this happened.

Me too! Apparently he had been his own, one man mini crime spree in Taos.
So that had been following him with several plain clothes men for several days. The police were estatic.

(Most of our connections with the Taos police were directly with the chief, who was very nice).

I'm sorry that happened -- knitting needles, good ones, are hard to replace! And just th ethought that someone would junk them because he judged them valueless ... FEH.

It's good that they caught the guy, but not that he dumped the stuff. That happened to me when i was camping. The thieves took everything valuable, and trashed my watercolours in a bin somewhere. I didn't get anything back.

It just adds negative energy to the world, but Taos is a fountain of GOOD energy, and let the positive vibes from your friends spill over and push that negative stuff away.

I'm so sorry! I was going to say how amazing it was the thief knew the value of the knitting needles and the yarn, then I read further. Blasted [expetive deleted]

Oh, bother (to use a very mild substitute of what I would have really said) --

Tia will not be a happy camper until she has more needles. Sorry you had this introduction to the Dark Side of Paradise (any place people love will attract those things in the dark that scurry when you lift up an ancient board).

I hope news in Taos is happier these days!

And yes, I have not been posting to or reading LJ. I have no brain and less time. But have thought often of you -- and if she doesn't start calling, I'm gonna interrupt her painting time!

Hugs your way --

I'm about two weeks behind, darn it. Still it is good to hear from my friends!

Tia has replaced the needles, the buglar has been arraigned.

All is well (and it snowed a good deal of the time here yesterday).

Take care to you and yours!
