hide what you have to hide, and tell what you have to tell

Occasionally I've toyed with the idea of doing a webcomic, as if I don't have enough projects to ignore. Ideas come and go: for a while Joy and I were gonna do a Guignol-esque story of a turn-of-the-century schoolmarm dragged into a conspiracy of dark forces; I'd like to retell fairy tales in styles reminiscent of their home countries. Recently I ( Read more... )

Drawing your own comics is a very sobering experience. Turns out it's hard.

I thought that came out quite nicely, and your lettering is terrific.

Oh yeah, a terrific book. He even sold me on his theory of different stages in an artists' development.

This is an all-around awesome entry.

I agree with jonathankorman's comment; it's mentally and physically exhausting writing and illustrating a comic strip or a graphic novel. I've been wanting to publish a web comic, but I know I wouldn't be able to keep it going. You did a great job with this one. The lettering is stellar, and the panel layouts are generally clear and uncluttered. The narration has a lot of character too. Excelsior!

I'm awed by the samurai sword-wielding vigilante. He's living the dream as far as I'm concerned.

As for Todd Shriber, I have to wonder how abysmal his GPA was that he thought it was worth the risk of soliciting two strangers to commit myriad federal crimes. If he didn't ruin his future by bombing his college classes, he's certainly ruined it now. I'm glad the aides working directly under our Congresspeople make such wise decisions…

Yay character! Thanks!

I bet Shriber's GPA was not that bad, and he's just geared to that maximal-achievement mentality.

Hmm. Bet they want to find him so they can arrest him for some pathetic crime. I despise modern law.

And on a more selfish note, how come I never made the news for doing that? :D

Did you ever actually save anyone or just run around waving your sword?

Yeah, I did. Police guy once. On the other hand, since this was a fair bit ago, it's entirely possible if it had been mentioned i WOULD have been arrested.

And I'm insulted you thing I run around waving swords. :(. i'm not THAT stupid.....

Much.
