Wow.
So uh yeah been a while and SO MUCH TO SAY mostly because if I do not give update on my life people may murder me for not explaining details of things that have happened.
So um first since August was NaNo, which was pretty awesome not just because I actually got writing and WON it yeah me (Ten thousand words on the final day, and I am so proud of myself because none of those 10,000 words were porn :D) but see mostly it was awesome because I got myself to be Social. I went to every write-in that I could that was in my area and I met people and it was awesome and all that and so, here's the more major part? I'm now regularly hanging out with two people from it.
And um. I am sort of dating one of them.
Yes. Yes. I have a Boy.
His name is James (I will give no last names because this is the Internet) and he is from Newcastle and he likes Sci Fi and Doctor Who and he and Abby (other new friend!) are forcing Big Bang Theory upon me among other shows (not that I mind). And he looks fabulous in a corset (Dude if you're going to tell me about the Rocky Horror thing AND have the pictures still up on facebook you can't really complain about me mentioning it here).
So I promised Beth I would describe how it happened:
So because the NaNo write ins were about once a week and I am still unaccustomed to this whole social thing (Oh yeah I got back on my medication and for serious, oh my god, I have been doing SO WELL socially it is THE oddest thing) I have been getting person in my talkings (also this may have something to do with NaNo itself, Ah the fond memories of planning the storefront of a bondage leather store in a public cafe), an we were walking home together (it turns out James lives really close to me), and I was describing my sexual orientation (which I would describe as 'omnisexual' which does not translate as 'fucks anything that moves', for the record, I am just attracted to things that transcend gender), and he mentioned that he wanted to date someone but would ask out someone he did not know very well.
Which was my first clue.
So, NaNo continues and we continue to walk home together after a lot of the write-ins and other not-quite-NaNo-related meetings since we live so close annd decide to do something after NaNo ends (Because i had started a seasonal job, more on that later, and that was like 9-10 hour days leaving me very little energy to write). And I've hung over his a few times (his roommate has FERRETS they are sososocute) and he's an awesome cook. And we watched Who together and he made me brownies. And another night was mac 'n cheese (more of a goulash but with more cheese). And I think the second time I was over he asked if I wanted to do it again and if we wanted to call it a date and I said yus. So. Boy.
And it's a little weird since the last physical relationship was back when I was 14, and then was an internet girlfriend for two years (naming no names because those who know the details know the details) and then there was almost Trader Joe's Girl who was super cute but I fucked that up due to bad social skills and then there was almost Suss but I was informed by several people that he was a Creepazoid and I was giving myself mild panic attacks over it so I nipped it in the bud and....yes. I am not so much with the romance. And it's almost awkward now because the whole, Living With Parents thing (I have an excuse, actually, even if I had the money and means to move out and get my own place: My mother may track me down and kidnap me or murder me if I left her alone to deal with my father all on her own), but um.
But Abby's awesome too because Girl Friend that I made all on my own that I didn't stumble into because they needed or roommate (Love you guys though honest but now I have someone in town :D).
So yes. Romance.
And Job! Which only lasted about...four weeks. Four? Uh, two weeks of November to the 18th of December...Mmyeah close enough to four. There was a fake-German Christmas Village around City Hall last year and this year (it's a big thing in Germany) and I helped around that. Kathe Wohlfhart is a German Christmas company ( bestofchristmas.com ) annnd most of the little houses weren't specifically that stuff, like, those designs, but I was working in the big white tent that WAS and this is important because it was the only enclosed, mildly heated place. I say mildly because due to electrical issues we could only have one Hot Box going at one time and the tent was rather large so...Yes. freezing. The uniform was a red fleece and at least one day I just tossed on an Extra Large over my leather jacket, scarf, and gloves (I cannot find my Pea Coat and until I do I am going outside as little as possible). It was really cool though! And I made FRIENDS there too it was so weird guys I made friends I was being mildly social it was like the apocalypse.
But set up was like 5 days of ten hours of unpacking and setting up (at least 40 hours of playing ornament tetris for meeee) and then we OPENED on Thanksgiving Day and closed on Christmas Eve, but I left on the 19th for the CARIBBEAN (more on that after this)
so my co workers were awesome, there were three guys who it turned out worked at the bar/restaurant around the corner from my house (which makes sense because the guy in charge there is a regular, the guy who hired me), and students from schools in the area, and general awesome people who I got along with. And there was some hinkiness when a coworker was making another coworker feel REALLY uncomfortable (no details but I'm pretty sure he knew she wasn't going for him he just didnt' know where to draw the line at being friendly), and when I was fairly sure one of my managers was possibly racist (not the guy who hired me) and honestly, it was through like...third hand information but it was that and something his mother said to me annnd...Nnyeah I'm just kind of glad not to be working with him any more.
And the village itself was AWESOME I got myself a leather bound notebook on paper that's...I don't think recycled is the right word but, I think it's home made. It's really nice.
And then I went to the Caribbean for a week and you can see the photos from that
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2034197&id=41401452 here, and I spent Christmas Day on a boat. In a storm. HAHA MEMORIES (yeahh I got pruney fingers just from sitting on the boat in the rain but it was a great experience seriously). (And I found out that though the tent was SUPPOSED to close on Christmas Eve it ACTUALLY closed the Tuesday BEFORE because the snow piled on the top of the tent and it collapsed. Happy I missed that! Yeah we went to St. Maarten the DAY of the snow storm in Philadelphia and we were on the runway for three fucking hours before we took off but THAT IS OKAY BECAUSE WE MADE IT and then came home to cold ;_; and I made some sort of friends at the resort but we didn't really hang out but it was nice to see I was still socially okay! And I had my period on the trip BUT I DID NOT CARE COS SUNSHINE).
And um. Yea. 'Smy past few months. HAPPY NEW DECADE haha holy shit 'ten years ago' now officially refers to the nineties oh god.
