Insight into Childhood

So I am doing this reflection part of my reading in my Play Therapy class.

I wanted to share this part as I felt it was extreamly powerful.

1. Think of an experience from your own childhood where your reality was denied. How did it make you feel? What was happening to your relationships with your parents during that experience?

a. I always felt like my voice wasn’t important enough to be heard. I started to stop telling my parents or anyone else for that fact, what my reality was or how I was experiencing things. This likely lead to the internalization behavior where I would push my emotions down and not talk to anyone about how I was feeling until it would all become so much pressure that I would just explode with emotion. This all is also possible to have affected my distancing behavior with my parents.
