Second walking day!

I actually stuck to the plan and set the alarm for 5 am so that I could make it to work on time. I waffled a little (the bed was too comfy), hit the snooze twice but then dragged myself out of bed and even though it was a later start than I wanted, I did walk. It was a gorgeous morning, perfect for it and I was only 30 minutes late. Luckily, I had worked an extra 30 minutes Monday night so no worries about the late arrival.

The one thing I realize though is that I really, REALLY need to take my flat iron with me because my hair was all over the place. The sweating (and yes I was sweating) made my hair frizz something that I fight always. I do think a change of shirt would be a good idea too!

Aside from looking like I'd forgotten to run a brush through the hair, it was successful. The one-way distance was 6.6 kilometres and I had eight hours to recover before the return trip. The afternoon was equally beautiful weatherwise and it went fine until the last 20 minutes which was mostly uphill. But I made it. It took me 1.5 hours each way, exactly what google maps told me it would. After a two hour break, I took the dogs out for their required walk and my estimate of that distance was about 2k. I think after walking 15k, I will sleep very well tonight.

The plan is to do this walk to work two to three days a week and add one other walk to other destinations on the weekend until my trip, July 1. I am doing this!! I need to find a walking icon. :D

walking, personal
