I'm glad to know you're okay. I didn't even know about it until you posted on twitter earlier. Looks like most of the Western media is just really covering it in the past few hours. I wish only the best for you and all in Japan [and in the path of the tsunami(s)].
I know it's not the same, but when there are tons of hurricanes here, I try to pay attention to weather sources (wunderground.com here...don't think they cover non-Western too thoroughly) instead of the news because they're much more likely to give straight facts and pertinent national/regional updates. If the news becomes too heartbreaking to stand.
Stay safe, and drug yourself to sleep if you have to.
I didn't even find out until mid-afternoon at my internship. :| Then, I said screw the rules and raced to Facebook to make sure you and another friend were safe. Take care of yourself and keep safe!
