Well, I finally (a year later) heard back from an agent I really liked about my science fiction story and he turned it down. No one wants to touch it with a 10-foot pole - at least the first 3 chapters. So for now, this one is getting shelved. I'm halfway through the second story of that world, and will finish it, but eventually
