Vane: The Premier Ceremony

Dec 27, 2008 22:33

Some of the set up was similar to Mia's Guildmaster one. At least the door from the Bar to the Magic Guild was well labeled again, and a guard posted to direct guests on where to go, along with exceptions to stay out of the Crystal Tower, the dungeon, and the roof. The focus was on the Main Hall itself where most of the people were, along with the

Which is what Draco was doing, still fiddling with grooming charms and how his robes looked. Also murmuring the lines he needed to say, and going over the proceedings.

Mia can't leave the Grand Hall right now, so Nall flies in. (Before he goes outside for flying demonstrations, of course.)

"Hey Draco! Excited about tonight?" he squeakily asks, hovering over his shoulder.

He was adjusting his cuffs, and turned to Nall.

"If by excited you mean nervous and almost sodden terrified, then yes I am," he remarked, and lowered his arms again.

"It'll be all over quick," Nall sagely says. "And then there will be fish at your reception. Right?"

Keep the dragon happy, Draco. He's doing a big favor for you.

Mia was milling around, and talking with her mother, who resembled her only with blonde hair. Nash was also around, as well several of the Five Heroes. All awaiting the ceremony to come.

Mia managed to talk Draco into only having one large fountain, and keeping it silent in the hall. It did change colors. Alternating between the red and gold of the Magic Guild, and the green and silver of Slytherin house colors (also Malfoy colors). There was also chamber music playing. And Nall in his full dragon form to demonstrate his flying prowess just outside and be doing so at the reception as well.

And then it was time for Draco to step out, wearing robes much more in keeping with a Vane Premier than with a highbro wizard back in England. (A bit like this but not as creepy.)

It's a startling thing, after what happened with Ghaleon, to see someone wearing Premier robes. Fortunately, Mia's confident smile silences all of the doubts in the room.

Hopefully it will erase Draco's doubts as well and press him to continue towards her.

She helped a great deal with his confidence, and hints of his swagger returned in his step as he stepped forward. Yet Draco did pause, and tried to adjust his gait to something more refined and stately, remembering himself. A touch haughty, but it was at least more in keeping with how to conduct himself.

She actually giggles a little bit to see him look so much like a rooster, or perhaps one of the peacocks that are around his old home.

Once he reaches her, she says, "Good evening everyone, and welcome to the Magic Guild of Vane. I would like to start by thanking all of our guests from both near and far for being in attendance tonight. It is a great honor for both the Magic Guild and our Master Draco Malfoy to see so many here to witness this historic event."

She steps down to be on the same level as Draco, holding a book out to him to pledge on. If he recalls, it's the same book she received in her Guildmaster ceremony.

Lots of food, lovely music (Especially if someone convinces Luna to sing a little), and Nall was happy to offer some rides to cute female volunteers. Hey who wouldn't want to go riding on a dragon?

Also try to beat Kyle and Mel before all the liquor vanishes in a drinking contest, or join in.

There were many mixed conversations tonight, some good. Possibly some of concern.

After the ceremony, a very serious Ben Winchester first heads over to Mia and Draco. "Hey."

"Hello, Ben. Happy you could make it."

Ben smiles, taking his friend's hands. "Hey Mia... you look great."

He does not look too shabby either, dressed formally. Some kind of military-like gala uniform, with his sword at his hip.

"Hey Draco, wassup?"
