Another day, and Draco had slept fitfully off and on. The one dream he had of the woman Star was pleasant, and reassuring. Especially when he awoke in pain again. Miniver must have stepped away for a moment because he woke up to being alone in bed. Fresh pain flared from the stitches, and he tried to shift himself up to sit. Away for only a minute. He's back soon, having only gone to the bathroom. Seeing Draco awake, he's by the bed in an instant.

"Why?"

Draco grimaced, and then simply said, "I had to. He threatened you both. I didn't know or had forgotten the pendants could be used more than once."

"How does that like, matter? Man, he cut you open. Even if it did only work once which it doesn't, under what circumstances do you feel would like, actually warrent using it?? JESUS." He grabs Draco's upper arms. "I thought you were gonna die."

...Stressed, ever so slightly.

"Well, clearly I didn't, so lovely to still be alive." Another wince, "Careful..." The one grab made his injured shoulder move slightly.

"I did get in a good blow to his gut by the way if that makes you feel better?"

His dealings with the cards were not over yet. Moon. Ruin. Mary Anne, the Queen of Swords. Star. And now Misery.

Who is perched nearby, brown eyes staring at the young man lying in pain in his bed.

At first he thought Raven had shown up, but no, slightly different.

"Yes... and it would go away faster if I could rely on potions, and not silly Muggle medicine," He grumped a little.

"Who are you?" He didn't think he was dreaming.

Tom knocks and then enters.

"Draco, Draco, Draco," he says, shaking his head. "Really, lad, you must stop getting yourself wounded on a regular basis. It's not good for your health."

He walks over to a chair by the bed and settles down in it.

"What on earth happened to you this time?"

Draco sank back against the pillows, and sighed. Masked wince at his shoulder in pain.

"Wasn't my idea either... I didn't even realize I did it till yesterday. Just had to do something. Ruin threatened them, and I... I don't know. You'd think I was a sodding Gryffindor the way I went after him."

"That's what being not evil gets you," he sighs. "Ruddy heroic tendencies... It's overcompensation, is what is, but you're going to have to bloody well learn how to restrain yourself, or you're going to wind up dead. Then you'll be doing no one any good."

Pot. Kettle. Black.

"Has a Healer taken a look at your injuries?"

Draco replied, "Not really seeing how this is better in that case. At least I usually stayed more intact before. And I know I was lucky this time."

He shook his head, "No, no Healers yet, and they used stitches on me! And needles of all things."
