Vane: New home, old worries

Draco and Mia entered the Guild, and it was obvious that he could barely keep it together at this point. It was only when they reached her rooms, and an anxious Alhena briefly startled him.
She whined, and babbled with concern as he flopped onto a couch in Mia's sitting room.

He then bent over, sobs overtaking him completely.

She gently puts her arms around him, sitting down next to him.

"I know, I know, it's hard," she tells him quietly. "I'm here for you, darling, to help however I can, and we have friends and family here."

She has to be strong for him now.

That way, he'll be strong for her when she needs him to be.

He just continued crying, and clung because he could barely feel her there. Between the war, and then the added stress of family estrangement. It was just too much for him.

She held him tight.

"It's over now. We'll find a way through this. We just have to take it slow."

She starts quietly humming to him. It's not quite as good as Luna, but it's the best she can manage for now.

It was going to take a while to stop. He shuddered, and the sobs starting going into choking cries as he slowly got it out of his system.

"I know, I know," he finally gasped out.
