When we bought the new house it had a couple of fishponds - one in the front garden and one in the back. I decided, immediately, that they were going - I’m not a fan - and this was on the to-do list from the minute we signed the papers. A couple of nights ago, hubby and I were lifting out the one in the back garden when we both noticed something ( Read more... )

Yipes! As a rule, I don't mind wildlife. But POISONOUS wildlife is a whole other story.

I'm with you, most especially when it's in my backyard!

oh HECK no! we had a fish pond in our back yard when we lived in Alabama and... it got all kinds of nastiness in it. water moccasins, water rabbits (i had no idea there was even such a creature)! luckily, we had several acres and it was in the very back. i only remember venturing near it once.

sorry the shopping experience is crappy. i love shopping & that would make me soooooooo upset! is there some where you can go that will deliver right away?

Precisely why I insisted the ponds by removed! They just invite icky and nasty.

I was so looking forward to decorating the new house with beautiful, quality furniture and it's just turned into another drama I don't have the time or patience for. Most furniture stores over here don't hold anything more than floor stock, due to the size of the warehouse they'd require to hold a couple of everything in any given colour, so immediately delivery isn't really possible. Tori's suite did arrive within 24 hours the first time, but seeing as it was all damaged...

Sounds extremely stressful to me :S Who knew furniture shopping could be such a drag? I hope things turn out better from now on! And that's a bit scary regarding the baby dugite, I also hope that "mummy" is far away!

I never thought it was going to be a drama, but oh how wrong I was! Things can't really get worse on that front, so it's only got to get better ;)

I'm certain 'mummy' is far away. Our area is too well established to be harbouring a snake that large without it being noticed by someone and that is what I'm going to keep telling myself ;)
