Kitten story

So Leif was climbing on the piano just now. We don't really want him to climb on the piano. So Rich, who was putting his coat away at the time, in the closet next to the piano, reached down and slid the cover open, so Leif was walking on the keys. Then Rich turned the power on (it's an electric piano ( Read more... )

Too cute.
Last night I was calling for Lucy because I swear I heard her somewhere else in the bedroom, but then she reached up from behind the bed and grabbed my hand. It freaked me out. She loves to do that! Cats are jerks. But we love them anyway.

Leif makes me think of Lucy when he climbs on the tub when the shower is going. He's fallen in several times now, including once in the drain end where some water was backed up, so he definitely got wet. But he still climbs up on the tub and bats at the shower curtain liner anyway.

He's started playing with water in the bathroom sink, too. Last night when I was getting ready for bed I left the water on a trickle just to watch him, because he kept batting at it while I was rinsing my toothbrush. He went from batting at it to poking his head under the faucet (getting his ears wet) and then back to batting at it with a paw, and finally he just sat there holding his paw under the water, getting soaked, until I turned the water off. I have no idea what he was thinking about but I laughed at him very hard.

we used to leave our electric keyboard on for the entertainment value of the cats randomly walking across it :)

and we call sonya ninja kitty. we see her in front of us when we close the closet door, and yet somehow when we get home from work she is very happily playing in the closet.

He did that to me today. We have the hall door blocked off with boxes so we can get out easily while he's not in the bathroom, and today I got through and was congratulating myself on having opened the blockade, gotten through, and closed it again without even attracting his attention. Then I turned around and saw him standing on my sewing table in the office. I think we're microchipping that boy, since once he's all growed up I don't know if we'll be able to keep him from getting out the door now and then.

Very good idea. If you don't want him getting out and possibly lost, that's the way to go.

And Lucy is now interested (since we can't let her roam) in a water bottle we fill up and pour her water into the bowl sometimes. She's into drinking from the bottle. It's very cute.

And because this all made me think of it...
