...You think that the Vohemaro are going to try and find a way to blame this on Ivona?! But how? This is their fault, not ours! Ivonian hasn't even done anything as of recent ever since the Lunasa Bombings.
The country has been overall silent except for minor grievances dealing with sky pirates that are stealing their cargo and destroying their ships.
So how could they possibly blame any of this on Ivona? Are...are they that scared of us?
Demi-humans live in both countries and are usually rather neutral about the conflicts taking place between us humans.
When the real culprit cannot be found, the next best thing is a scapegoat. Things are relatively peaceful now, but the relations between these two countries are so poor that the slightest breeze will push them over the edge.
For now, that scapegoat is the demihuman population. Though, what qualifies as "demihuman" interests me. Where do they intend to draw the line, hmm?
But rest assured, if there's a way to accuse Ivona, it will be found and used. It is simply the negative feelings that the people cannot just let go of.
I wonder how badly this will effect the future relations between these two countries and the relations between human and demi-human. I have met a few non-humans here and there upon my travels and some of them seem more human than most people.
This is being used as a short term measure with no thought to how it will affect the entire continent in years to come. Let's hope the damage isn't too severe.
Which is why this blaming of the demi-humans seems to make no sense. I mean, why look for new enemies when you can blame the old ones?

If there's any trouble, you know everyone on this ship will be behind you. Just stay safe, okay? When the peace talks went bad, everyone was using it as an excuse to persecute everyone from Ivona. I don't doubt this will be any different.

This new law is just unnecessary.
