Skynet sends back machines to ensure it's own creation.

Plot twist in the TV show: Terminators from the future are sent back to build a precursor to Skynet. What they're building isn't for Skynet, it's for the resistance. The resistance has their own sentient AI machine that John Connor uses in the future to reprogram other terminators.

Well, I was talking about the first 3 movies where Skynet sends back a Terminator to ensure it's creation and Conner sends back a human or another Arnold to ensure his creation or survival.
