I've been aware of Oswald for some time, now, but there was stuff here I didn't know. This was so interesting.:) And it only increases my urge to get my hands on "Epic Mickey" sometime. As a now-established Disneyphile, I want to see that. :) Hm, I wonder if there's any Oswald merchandise in the parks.... I'll have to look in May. I forgot last time.

I know that they had some Oswald plushies and t-shirts in the parks at one point, probably right after the game released, because I've seen pictures of the displays, but there wasn't anything when we went in September. I bought a plush online myself when I picked up the DVD set. XD They tend to cycle merchandise in the parks, though, so unfortunately, I wouldn't expect to see anything there in May...most likely they'll add some stuff when the second game releases in October.

You really should give the game a shot if you can get your hands on it for a reasonable price. I honestly loved it, it made for a really great story and it was a lot of fun. I must've annoyed everyone I know when that came out raving about it. XD

Actually, when you raved on here, I quite enjoyed it. :) It's fun to see someone so excited about something. Especially since it makes me want to play it even more than I already did!

Very cool post, thanks for sharing all that!!

Limitations actually increase creativity

And the converse may be true as well - look how many movies with massive budgets in the last several years have managed to turn out so meh.

The situation with so many lost Oswald shorts reminds me of the situation with lost episodes of early Doctor Who. No one to get mad at, just a very sad thing.

PS - JUDGE DOOM WAS GOING TO BE WOODY WOODPECKER?????????

That's it exactly - it's not always about having access to everything, it's about what you do with the resources you have.

I was thinking about the parallels between the lost shorts and Doctor Who myself, it's a shame that these things have just disappeared. I'm glad that now people make an effort to preserve these things, but it sucks that we'll never be able to see them.

And yep, from what I understand, Judge Doom was supposed to be Woody Woodpecker. He's obviously not in the movie, since Woody appears in that end scene where they're all looking over the body, but man, wouldn't that have been an awesome ending? XD

I'm not gonna lie, I totally hope that they make some cartoons with Oswald interacting with the rest of the Disney cast. That would be awesome! I imagine it'd be a possibility if these new games sell well as well.

I really loved the first game, so it goes without saying that I'm excited for the second. You should totally give it a shot. :)

I'm glad it entertained! I've got an interest in anything that has a long history like this, and have been kind of obsessed with this story for some time.
I can't imagine it ending in a better way, though. So many things like this end up "and then it was gone forever" so it's nice to have a happy one.
