I don't particularly care about them making Alan Scott gay, but I do definitely think it was a cop-out after they made such a big deal out of it. And an unwise one, too.

See, all the major media outlets I saw talking about this assumed that "the" Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, was the character DC outed as gay. So the public expectation now will be that Hal be treated as gay, and when they don't see that, they're going to feel deceived. Some might even assume DC is backing off on making "Green Lantern" gay, which will look especially ungood for them. So this PR stunt might actually create some PR problems...

They would have been much better off going all the way and actually making Hal gay, or choosing a character with only one version running around in current canon (like the Atom).

DC wouldn't have the guts to make Hal gay - though it might have actually made me a bit more interested in the character, at least initially, giving them a fresh set of stories to tell with him. It's actually funny that they wouldn't, though, since Geoff Johns so deperately wants to marry him. Atom would have been a good choice, but heck, anybody in the main universe would've been better than shuffling off their big new character change to an alternate earth.

I'm not sure DC knows what they're doing anymore, though. Every move they make lately reeks of desperation, which is kind of weird, since they consistently hold the top slots.

I'm just fascinated by the Vacation Bible Camp that's keeping all one Million Moms too busy for Facebook.

I mean, it's probably safe to assume this group wouldn't stop after having one kid. That's a camp that must have at 2.5 to 3 million kids in it.

Yes, but you forget that these people don't believe in math, so instead of actually having one million moms, there's only like 20 of them. XD

Hulkling and Wiccan are still being awesome, they exchanged a kiss in Children's Crusade recently and I believe are now engaged. The main problem Marvel has with them, from what I understand, is that Marvel is only letting Allan Heinberg write for the Young Avengers. Which on one hand is good, because you don't have another writer swooping in and mucking around with everything, but the downside is that he's not a full time writer for Marvel, so Young Avengers stories tend to go sssslllloooowly. (I think Children's Crusade took over a year to fully release.) But yeah, they haven't gone anywhere. THANKFULLY ( ... )
