The thing I'm taking from your post is that you're being too hard on yourself: just because he's perfectly nice, doesn't mean you were wrong to split up.

Re not drinking - I'm sure H would like to meet up with you again - she's pretty indifferent to drinking or not when going out. I always find it difficult to go out with people who are drinking if I'm not.
