Remind me to take my time off earlier this month next year - I'm so bored.

This is my train, known locally as the "Akaden" - short for aka and densha, red and train. Japanese people are very literal, haha. The real name for the line is something I can never ever remember. (EDIT: oh, it's Enshu Railway Line...) This train takes 30-35 minutes to get from my station at the end of the line, to the terminus in Hamamatsu city. ( Read more... )

I get along ok just speaking English so far. I teach in English and the coworkers I interact with the most are English teachers. Otherwise I've managed with a few key words in Japanese, my phone translator, miming, and whatever little English the person I'm speaking to has. I'm not actively learning Japanese at all at this point. I feel a bit guilty about it sometimes, so maybe I'll try harder before my time here is up... but I don't know when I'll ever use it outside of Japan, so my motivation isn't terribly high.

that bath salt package looks awesome! this is super random, but would you consider sending me some? i've been in love with LUSH bath bombs etc lately and it would be interesting to compare. if you have a paypal account, i'll pay for it!

Lush bath bombs are amazing! A little expensive though. Haha. Beware the... dragon's egg, I think it was. Sooo nice, but there was glitter in the tub for weeks afterwards, no matter how much I rinsed it out! Hahaha.

I'll find you a couple and ship them out, no worries! I cannot guarantee their smell or niceness, though, as the mango/orange one I took a photo of is the only one I've used so far. ;)

Lush is definitely expensive. I just bought a little pot of Ocean Salt, which is like a body scrub that will leave your skin super soft and amazing, and that was $20! Eek! So, I have to take a little break from Lush. :/ I think I've tried something else besides Dragon's Egg that left our tub glittery and shiny for a week or two :D

Ah! Thank you!!! Seriously. Don't worry about the smell or niceness, I'm sure it will be awesome. Did you like the mango one? Sounds divine!
