Old Dog

Poor old Shep is feeling his age lately. He had a couple of good days on the Metacam, but yesterday he went out and stayed out for a while, and when he came in he was cold and chilled and sore. Today he absolutely refused to go outside, and can barely walk. Even with his medicine today, when we got home he basically doesn't want to move and you ( Read more... )

We've faced this with Shassi, my old Shiba. She has a reprieve, but the decision isn't easy. My thoughts are with you.

It's always tough, but you really have to do what is best for your pet. I had a friend who had her old dog deaf, blind, incontinent, and completely stiff with arthritis ... and I don't want that kind of life for Shep.

He has had a good long time with us, and given us lots of good memories. I just hope that he feels the same about us.
