I really love seeing the dichotomy between them now that they don't have powers. Elle survived and made a new life for herself while Sylar completely fell apart. You would think the opposite would have happened.

I thought about that a lot, too. But remember this fic is from Elle's POV -- and so we know everything she does. While she doesn't know why the abilities went away, she knows she wasn't the only one. She knows that all the specials are gone, even with science on her side. Meanwhile, Sylar had been killing and terrorizing people and then woke up one day, losing powers one by one with no reason. Given what we know about Sylar's history, and his whole "I need to be special" I thought he might jump to the idea that it was just him who had lost abilities. Minus his intuitive aptitude and telekinesis, there would be no way for him to know the people he'd killed had no ability.

Plus, in my head, Elle's whole backstory is her adjusting to things that just plain suck. Tests from her daddy, not knowing her mother, not having any friends, growing up in the Company...this is just yet another thing in her life that just blows, and she's trying her best.

Another good chapter!

I love how ruined Sylar is, compared to how together Elle has remained. Also like how unafraid she is of him.

Looking forward to sleeping arrangements, heheh.

Yay, I was so happy to see this! I really love their dynamic in this fic, and how Elle is basically put together and Sylar is such a wreck. I can totally see it though. Elle loves her power, of course, but I feel like she would also have a lot of negativity attached to it - so much that she might be okay when it's gone, just because it gets rid of that negativity. Sylar, however, attached so much of his self worth to his powers, I can see how it would destroy him. Great chapter, can't wait to see more.
