Armando Galarraga pity party.

Who the hell is Armando Galarraga? He's the pitcher for the Detroit Tigers who, five minutes ago, was one out away from a perfect game when he was robbed by an atroicious, abominable, inexcusably terrible call by the first base umpire. Jim Joyce, your umpiring career is over. Go away forever in shame.

That's a shame.

This would have been the third perfect game in the span of a month, which is crazy. Are pitchers getting too good? I think they might be. There are a lot of boring baseball games these days. Where's the small ball? I'd rather see balls hit into the infield, quality plays, strategic baserunning, and the like. Homeruns and overly dominant pitchers are what the juice era has given us. The sport's reputation is tainted, and I don't think it's as fun to watch as it used to be.

Small ball is my favorite kind of baseball. Base hit, steal a base, advance, score. Home runs aren't nearly as exciting. Too bad they're more efficient.
